Sashiko Introduction
Meditative Workshop for all levels
Freie Plätze
Beschreibung
This Sashiko workshop is inspired by geometric patterns found on working clothes in ancient Japan. We’ll explore these (seemingly) simple lines, learn the most important techniques, and immerse ourselves in the countless shades of blue. Using two separate pieces of fabric, we’ll embroider a double-sided coaster (as pictured). All Materials will be provided (Indigo fabric, Sashiko patterns, threads in many colors, embroidery needles, etc.). Language D/E. Location: The mep | Bürgenstrasse 6, 6005 Lucerne https://www.themep.ch/ In her textile works, artist and philosopher Jana Bochet explores the tactile connection between embroidery (both classical and experimental) and philosophical questions.
